QUETTA, May 6: Seven people, including a woman were killed and six others injured in different incidents in Quetta, Mach and Usta Mohammad, on Saturday.
According to police one person who was identified as Mohammad Naeem Kakar was killed and six others injured in a shoot out between two rival groups in district courts.
“Both groups had old enmity and came to district courts to attend the hearing of a case pending before the court where they opened fire on each others killing one person on the spot,” police said.
A policeman also received injuries during exchange of fire. Police immediately rushed to the site and sent the injured to civil hospital.
Unknown armed men riding a motorcycle gunned down an Afghan refugee in Pashtoonabad area on Saturday morning.
He was identified as Molvi Yar Mohammad and was working as Pesh Imam in a local masque. “The deceased had an enmity in Afghanistan, which resulted in his death,” a senior police officer said.
Police reported another murder in Khrotabad area where Naimatullah was shot dead by one of his relative over a domestic dispute.
Reports reaching here from Mach township say that two persons identified as Hazoor Bakhsh and Sadullah were killed when to rival groups fought gun battle. They used automatic weapons against each other over an old dispute. In another incident armed men killed a couple in Goth Gul Mohammad of Usta Mohammad town.
Police said armed men opened fire at one of their woman and her friend and killed them on the spot. The man killed was identified as Khadim Hussain.
DEATH SENTENCE: The sessions court of Nasirabad has awarded death sentence to two people in a murder case.
The convicts were identified as Mohammad Karim and Faiz Mohammad.
They had killed Kanwar Khan in the Ghaffar Got village of the Nasirabad district on Jan 24, 2004.
