KHAIRPUR, May 6: People’s Party MPA Nawab Wassan has criticised demolition of Sindhi villages in Karachi. Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he condemned what he described as the murder of two villagers during a demolition drive on Friday in Karachi.

He alleged that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement ministers and city government Karachi wanted to accommodate non-locals by demolishing the old villages. People celebrating Jashn-i-Latif had actually used Shah Latif’s name to organize an MQM show, he said and claimed that the Muttahida had used the government resources and harassed Sindhi officers in name of Jashn-i-Latif.

He said the MQM was celebrating Jashn-i-Latif after bifurcation of Hyderabad and planning to divide Thatta.

WATER THEFT: The Tando Masti Khan police on Saturday booked four farmers for water theft.

Complainant Imdad Hussain Beldar has stated in an FIR that during his visit of Tando Nazar Ali minor on Friday, he found direct cuts in the minor at several places irrigating some pieces of agricultural land illegally.

Mr Hussain has nominated Qaimuddin Mari, Qamardin, Ibrahim and Mazhar Ali in the FIR.

BOOKED:A man, Mohammad Punjal Maitlo, lodged an FIR with the Ahmedpur police against 36 Kandhro community persons here on Friday.

The complainant is the father of a boy, Mohammad Tagyal Maitlo, who was injured two days ago when some armed man fired on him. He has stated in the FIR that the accused had a dispute with his family over a matrimonial issue.
