KARACHI, May 6: Seven ships including a car carrier with 160 old vehicles are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where only two ships, Sunrise Rosa to unload lube oil and Kota Tampan, to offload and load containers were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed included Sunrise Rosa, Judi Muheiddin, Banglar Urmi and Eric G Gibson, while Sinar Bontang, Banglar Kakoli, San Jiang Kuo, Kota Tampan and Plemonte are due to sail out on Sunday.

Owing to lesser berthing the total tonnage handled on Saturday fell to 54,308 tons comprising 31,956 tons of export cargo, including 3,671 tons of rice and 22,352 tons of import tonnage, which also included 2,931 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Helan, with 160 used vehicles, Al-Marwah, to offload chemicals, Conti Esperance, Orient Independence, with containers, An Ning Jiang, Conti Express, with general cargo and Swat, to offload crude oil.

The following ships are due on Monday: Tai He, and MOL Asante, with containers.
