Nasir, Arbab clash in final

PESHAWAR, May 5: British Open Junior Under-13 champion Nasir Iqbal set up final showdown with Arbab Dilawar in the PAF Squash Academy League — 2006 being played at Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Friday.

Nasir who controlled the match from the outset overpowered a game Sulman Jaffar in the three games 9-7, 9-5, 9-8.

Later Arbab Dilawar upset Bilal Zakir in a the four- game battle that lasted for 38 minutes. Arbab faced tough resistance before overcoming 7-9, 9-7, 9-6 and 9-4.

In the Under-15 Farhan Zaman defeated Awais Khan 9-3, 2-9, 9-3 while in the second semi-final Nousherawan beat Waqas Mehboob 9-2, 9-4, 7-9, 9-5.

Tahir Iqbal outclassed Ijaz Tehkhali 9-5, 9-3, 9-0 in the first semifinal of Under-17 while Muhammad Bilal booked his place in the final outclassing Jawad Noorani 9-2, 9-5, 9-1.

In the Under-11 category, Fahim Gul who downed Shoaib 9-6, 9-2, 9-4 will meet Mansoor Jan who prevailed over Iktidar Khan 4-9, 9-5, 9-2 , 9-4.
