KARACHI, May 4: Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence Mr Nisar A. Memon has expressed the view that if political leaders learned to resolve issues in a peaceful manner and forgot their minor differences, a bright future for the country to the benefit of common man could be ensured.
“There is an imperative need for progress and understanding on political front. Time has come to develop maturity and ensure the prevalence of a smooth political system that could do away with the anarchy witnessed in the past,” he said while speaking at a reception held here on Thursday under the auspices of the 21st Century Business & Economics Club and Overseas Universities Alumni Club.
He hoped that the recent meeting between former prime ministers Ms Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif in London was also directed towards the strengthening of democracy, and not disturbing the country's economic march forward.—PPI
