KARACHI: IJT criticises raids

KARACHI, May 4: A demonstration was staged by activists of the Islami Jamiat Talaba, University of Karachi chapter, on Thursday at the Karachi Press Club against attacks on KU’s students by a terrorist group, police raids on residences of IJT workers, and registration of fake cases against the party’s activists.

A large number of students participating in the demo carried placards and banners. They chanted slogans against the police, the varsity’s security adviser and a rival student organization. They also chanted slogans against the governor Sindh and the MQM.

Addressing the protestors, Noman Hameed, Nazim IJT, Faculty of Arts, KU, accused the police of discrimination and harassing IJT workers.—PPI
