KARACHI, May 4: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where four ships to load/unload containers, edible oil and chemicals were given berths at QICT, MPT and Engro Vopak terminal, respectively.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and edible oil arrived at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, says a PQA press release.

Berth occupancy remained at 100 per cent on Wednesday as a total of ten ships occupied berths to load offload containers, rice, sugar, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coke during the last 24 hours.

The port handled a cargo volume of 81,584 tons comprising 56,944 tons imports and 24,640 tons of export cargo including 2,978 containers.

Departures from the port were also brisk where four ships-two container ships, one bulk carrier and an oil tanker sailed on Wednesday.
