Ahmed blasts century

ISLAMABAD, May 2: Ahmed Sohail belted a blazing century on Tuesday as Islamabad College for Boys (ICB) thrashed FG School No 8, F-6/2 by 186 runs at the start of the PCB National Schools Cricket Championship (Islamabad). In a 75-ball innings, Sohail scored a marvellous 126 with 15 fours and five sixes as ICB piled up 311 for seven, a total in which Waleed contributed 54 runs.

The No 8 School were never in the hunt and were dismissed for only 125 in 20 overs, Umair Ali and Umair Arshad sharing six wickets in a fine bowling performance.

In another match, FG Model Boys High School G-9/4 defeated FG Boys High G-6/2 by 36 runs at the Diamond Ground.

Amar Yasin topscored with 91 for G-9/4 who scored 187 batting first. Qaiser Hussain, Shaharyar Qamar and Faisal Masih took two wickets each.

The G-6/2 School in reply were bowled out for 151 with Abdul Wahab (28), the main scorer. Nadeem Riaz was the most economical bowler with 2-13. Also snapping up two apiece were Adil Altaf, Asad Shah and Wajahat Latif.
