Lahore women claim karate title

LAHORE, May 2: Lahore district with 17 points won the Punjab women karate championship on Tuesday. Lahore bagged two gold, two silver and one bronze medal. Faisalabad grabbed second position with 15 points, earning two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Bahawalpur claimed third spot with eight points.

Results:

U-44 kgs: Shama Ghulam (Bahawalpur), Sonia Pervez (Rawalpindi), Hadiqa Zohra (Jhang).

U-48 kgs: Kanwal (Fsd), Ayesha (Sahiwal), Nazia Hasan (Sargodha).

U-53 kgs: Humaira (Jhang), Wajeeha Yasin (Lahore); Jamila Sadiq (Rwp).

Open weight: Qudsia (Lahore), Musarat Shaheen (Sargodha); Mehmooda Hasan (Bahawalpur).

Individual kata: Farha Malik (Lahore), Nabila Raza (Fsd), Sonia Pervez (Rwp).

Team kata: Lahore; Faisalabad; Rawalpindi.
