SIALKOT, May 2: Daska lawyers took out a rally in protest against city police for implicating a lawyer in a false kidnap case on the pressure of ruling PML MPA Mumtaz Ali. DBA president Riaz Ghuman led the rally which started from Bar office and marched peacefully towards the dera of the MPA. The rally ended at the office of DSP (investigation). They met DSP Ghulam Sabir Mir who assured them that the case would be investigated on merit.

Earlier, a resolution was adopted at a lawyers’ meeting demanding withdrawal of the case against Advocate Tauqeer Anwar.

SUSPENDED: The Sialkot DPO has suspended from service Inspector Mian Rafiq, SHO of Daska city police station, and Inspector Sajid Nazir, SHO of Hajipura police station, on the charge of negligence in their duties.
