ISLAMABAD, May 2: The Capital Development Authority has decided to establish an emergency disaster management cell to cope with emergency situations. The PC-1 for the project costing Rs74 million has been finalised and would be presented in the next meeting of the CDA departmental development working party.

According to the project, six disaster management cells would be established in different sectors where all necessary equipment along with ambulance service would be provided.

The headquarters of the cell would be in the Capital Hospital. The disaster management staff will be provided wireless facility to handle emergency situation without any delay.

PROTEST DEMO: The Employees Union of Capital Development Authority has announced that it will hold a protest rally on May 10 for acceptance of its demands.

Chairman of the union Syed Pehalwan Shah has convene a meeting of all the CDA employees before May 10 to discuss the plan of action.—PPI
