LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), May 2: Two timber godowns were gutted on Monday night in Landi Kotal. The fire was caused by short circuit. Godown owners Haji Bakhti and Haji Spin Gul claimed to have incurred losses to the tune of one and half million rupees.
The fire was brought under control by the Khasadar force and local volunteers after two hours.
MINOR KILLED: A minor girl drowned in the river Kabul near Loe Shalman, some 25 kilometres from here.
Family sources said that Nazo was playing at the river side along with her other sisters when she incidentally fell into the river.
Her body was carried away by the gushing river waters. Her dead body could not be retrieved till Tuesday.
