KARACHI, May 2: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Tuesday condemned the killing of Hindus in occupied Kashmir. In a statement released from the party’s international headquarters in London, Mr Hussain maintained that the “horrific killings of Hindus in a village of District Doda in occupied Kashmir, after dragging them out of their homes and opening heavy fire with automatic weapons upon them is naked terrorism, brutal and totally against the teachings of Islam.”
He said that at a time when both Pakistan and India were working to establish peace in the region by resolving controversial issues, including the Kashmir dispute, the slaughter had been carried out to sabotage these efforts.
“Who will be responsible if, God forbid, the extremist Hindus of India in retaliation carry out a similar attack on the Muslims of India,” he asked.
He called upon the government to investigate the incident to unmask those behind the attack and continue the dialogue process with India.
Expressing resentment, Mr Hussain said that all the Pakistanis who believed in and respected humanity were saddened at this tragic incident and shared the grief and sorrow of the families of victims.
He appealed to the Indian government to treat the incident as an act of terrorism and continue with the process of dialogue with Pakistan.
