Speakers highlighted the sacrifices of the Chicago workers who were killed on May 1, 1886 for demanding genuine rights for the working class but the oppressors used force to suppress the labour movement.
They said that to the day workers and low-paid employees in government departments and private institutions were being exploited by the wealthy class.
The speakers claimed that unemployment and price-hike were serious problems faced by people and jobless skilled youths.
They stated that anti-worker policy of the government had further increased the miseries of the have-nots.
