ISLAMABAD, May 1: Two more bird flu suspects were discharged from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) after they tested negative for the avian influenza on Monday.
Ms Imtiaz (27), a resident of Tarlai, and Majeed Khan (24), a resident of Muzzafarabad, were brought to the hospital with complaints of fever, cough, flu, on April 27.
They were kept in the Medical-II isolation ward for three days. Blood specimens and throat and nasal swabs from the suspects of bird flu were collected and sent to the National Institute of Health for tests that proved negative.—Staff Reporter
