KARACHI, April 28: Brisk berthing activity was witnessed at the port where five ships were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, two more ships to load rice and containers also arrived at outer anchorage. Berth occupancy remained at 89 per cent as eleven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, canola seeds, edible oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 0.101 million tons comprising 0.084 million tons of import and 0.017 million tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Baravia Express, Sagar, Xian Wan, Venus, Anette Kasan and Kudam left the port while Hammurabi was due to depart.
