KARACHI, April 18: Adviser to Prime Minister on Women Development, Senator Nilofer Bakhtiar, has said that more than 300,000 women visited the Women’s Expo from April 13 to 16.

Due to Nishtar Park incident in city the turn out on the first two days was comparatively low but on April 15 and 16 there had been overwhelming response from Karachiites, she said while speaking at the concluding ceremony of Women’s Expo at Karachi Expo Centre.

Nilofer said, “We want to organise such events on international level as well so that Pakistani women could get their international exposure.

She said that the Women’s Expo was held in four halls of Expo Centre where around 100 corporate sector exhibitors, 200 women artisans from rural areas and 100 women entrepreneurs from urban areas exhibited their products.

She said, “After successful Women’s Expo in Karachi we are now considering to organise such events in other provinces.”

Nilofer said that she personally visited all four halls and was pleased to announce that all the exhibitors had received tremendous business especially women artisans.

The exhibition was also visited by Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil as well as by NWFP Minister of Women Development Kashif Azam Chishti.
