Petition of scholar dismissed

ISLAMABAD, April 12: A double bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday dismissed the petition of a religious scholar, who was interned for his alleged association with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan.

Qari Sohail Ahmad Farooqi has been in jail for over a year on the allegations that he has links with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan.

The bench, comprising Justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha and Justice Mohammad Jehangir Arshad, dismissed the petition because the petitioner’s counsel was not present in the court to present arguments.—Staff Reporter
