KARACHI: Petrol pumps closure blamed on police

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 12: Almost all petrol and CNG stations across the city were forced to keep their business closed on Wednesday allegedly by the police.

A number of fuel stations visited by Dawn were found closed. Staff at these fuel stations said that they had kept their business closed voluntarily until Zuhr prayers in respect of those died in the Nishter Park tragedy and whose funeral prayers were to be offered in the afternoon.

However, the staff said, as soon as they tried to resume the business, police intervened to force them to keep the fuel stations closed. They said that people were demanding fuel but they could not help them.
