Arab states okay $80m for Hamas

By Our Correspondent

RIYADH, April 12: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have pledged 80 million dollars in immediate aid to the Hamas-led Palestinian government, the Palestinian Authority finance minister Omar Abdelrazek said in a statement posted on Hamas website.

Algeria has already transferred an amount of US$35 million to the Palestinian Authority accounts.

Abdelrazek had said earlier on Monday that the government still faced a 120 million dollar monthly budget shortfall, despite having received the 35 million dollars from Algeria.
