Third party PSI, health certification
By Our Staff Reporter
KARACHI, April 1: A private company of world repute will issue third party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) and health certificates to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for their export consignments to meet buyers’ conditions the world over. This transpired in a meeting held on Saturday between the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) and Gulf Inspection International (Pvt) Ltd (GIIPL), representatives of CMC International, UK.
Tariq Hussain Siddiqui, chief executive officer of GIIPL, informed the Unisame members that his company was offering health certification for farm produces, third party PSI, testing and analysis, ISO-9000 and valuation consultancy.
Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver said that quality was the result of high intentions, sincere efforts, intelligent directions and skilful execution and SMEs were now working on this direction of excellence. He advised the SMEs to seek professional help whenever and where ever possible to improve and modernize their system of quality control and productivity.
The Unisame committee noted with relief that GIIPL would issue health certificate, as the phytosanitary department of agriculture had discontinued issuing health certificates. The SMEs were facing serious problems at the destination port as the authorities insisted on health certificate but now this matter stood resolved through third party PSI and health certification.
