DADU, March 30: The court of the first additional sessions judge directed the Khairpur Nathan Shah police on Thursday to register an FIR against the in-charge of the Kakar police post and four other police officials for allegedly detaining and torturing two people.
Abdul Razzaq and Manzoor Joyo had filed an application in the court, alleging that police post in-charge ASI Riaz Ahmad Soomro, head constable Saleh Abro, Nazeer Panhwar, and constables Arbab and Mohammad Hussain had detained them illegally.
They alleged that police had tortured them for three days and had threatened them with registration of false cases if they did not pay Rs20,000.
The judge, Sikandar Ali Lashari, directed the Khairpur Nathan Shah police to register an FIR against the policemen.
Meanwhile, the judge also ordered registration of an FIR against ASI Imtiaz Kalhoro who was accused by Saindad Sehole of illegally detaining him for three days.
Warrants issued: The court of the first additional district sessions judge on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of the SP, investigation, Dadu, and a former SHO of the Thariri Mohabbat police station.
The court issued the warrants to the police officers for negligence in duty and non-compliance of a court order.
