KARACHI, March 30: Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro on Thursday described the efforts for a noble cause of treating patients affected with eye-related diseases and for eradication of the same as a great service to humanity.
The senate chairman was speaking at a ceremony after inaugurating the Vision Science Centre established with the cooperation of Sight Savers International (SSI) of the UK here at an OPD of Civil Hospital Karachi.
He lauded the efforts of the doctors and others who contributed in the setting up of the facility for welfare of the people.
Sindh Coordinator Prof Dr Ziauddin Sheikh, Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan of Prevention and Control of Blindness Programme, Regional Director SSI South Asia, Dr Nazma Kabir, Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Prof Masood Hameed Khan and Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Karachi Dr M Kaleem Butt also spoke.—APP
