Eclipse seen across Pakistan


LAHORE, March 29: A partial solar eclipse was witnessed in different parts of the country, including Lahore, Islamabad and Quetta, on Wednesday. Chief Meteorologist Shaukat Ali Awan told APP that the surface of sun remained partially opaque from 3.44pm to 5.40pm.

He said a total solar eclipse began its journey across the earth at sunrise in Brazil. It swept northwest across Africa, Turkey and Central Asia before ending at sunset in Mongolia.

A number of people witnessed the phenomenon through colour glasses and used X-ray films.
