ISLAMABAD, March 29: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) is to have a new Director General following the transfer of its current head.
Brig. Arif Mahmud Siddiqui who was at the helm of the organisation for exactly two and half years is to be posted back in the Army.
Arif told Dawn on Wednesday evening that he will be leaving office by April 4.
He will be making way for the 11th head of the board, although it is not known who comes in next.
He replaced Brig. Saulat Abbas in the fall of 2003.
The PSB has traditionally been run by Army officers and Zakir Hussain Syed, Abdul Haque Channar and Javaid Ali Khan were the only civilians to have run the affairs.
