200 kgs of hashish seized in Daska

SIALKOT, March 29: Around 200 kilograms of fine quality hashish was seized from a car (LXF-1284) parked near Dheedowali-Daska village on the main Daska-Pasrur Road late on Tuesday night.

DPO Dr Tariq Khokhar told journalists that the police had foiled a bid to smuggle the contraband worth millions of rupees in the Sialkot district.

The DPO said the Daska police were making all out efforts for the early arrest of the car owner.

A case has been registered while further investigation is under way.

SHOT DEAD: Two women of a family were shot dead and another was injured seriously by their rivals in Bhakhiyaanwala village in Daska on Wednesday.

Reports said that armed men stormed into the house of landlord Ghazanfar Ghuman and opened fire on inmates. Consequently, Shabana and landlord’s wife Asima died instantly while Hakim Bibi sustained serious injuries. The killers fled while firing in the air. The injured woman was admitted to the local THQ Hospital in critical condition.

Later, the slain women were laid to rest in their native graveyard in the presence of scores of people amid tight security.

Motra police have registered a case with no arrest.
