KARACHI, March 29: The body of a man kidnapped in Gadap area for ransom in February by unknown persons was recovered on Wednesday from Hub River Road. Police said that Subhan, 36, was kidnapped on February 2 along with three other persons, including one, Maula Bakhsh. Two of the victims were released shortly afterwards but Subhan and Maula Bakhsh remained in captivity.
The kidnappers had demanded Rs20 million as ransom.
Police said that negotiations for their release were under way but the kidnappers killed Subhan and dumped his body at a section of the Hub River Road.
An official of the CPLC said that efforts were being made to secure the release of Maula Bakhsh.
KILLED: A young man was shot dead in Lyari on Wednesday morning. Police said that Abdul Baqi, son of Abdul Aziz, riding a motorcycle, was passing through a locality in the limits of Kalakot police station when unknown persons opened fire at him and fled.
The victim suffered multiple bullet wounds. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
SUICIDE: A businessman committed suicide in Bahadurabad on Wednesday evening.
Police said that Inyat Ismail, 65, shot himself in the washroom of his house. On hearing the sound of the gunshot, his family members broke down the washroom’s door which was locked from inside. The found Inayat’s body lying in a pool of blood. The body was taken to the JPMC for legal formalities.
