KARACHI: WSF to help give country new outlook: says PPP

KARACHI, March 29: The successful holding of the six-day World Social Forum 2006 in Karachi would help give Pakistan a progressive, democratic and liberal outlook. This was observed by Secretary General of the Sindh PPP Nafees Siddiqui while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday. He congratulated the WSF organisers for focussing on the issues being faced by the people around the world, particularly of Pakistan.

He said WSF was held at a time when anti-liberal and anti-democratic forces were active. The Forum focussed on burning issues like Balochistan crisis, excesses against women, plight of workers and labourers, democracy, free and fair election, rule of law, etc.—PPI
