KARACHI, March 28: An ugly incident involving a player and joint owner of the venue where the 31st National snooker championship is in progress marred the second session of pre-quarterfinals on Tuesday. According to information, Shoaib of Snooker Zone was rushed to nearby hospital after he was hit in the eye by Kamran Razzak where he received four stitches.
The brawl occurred after he disallowed Kamran to enter the venue as it was already packed to capacity. Due to the incident, the matches were stopped for sometime.
“We have brought details of the incident into the knowledge of PBSA and awaiting a decision,” joint partner of the parlour, Chaudhry Farooq Ahmed told Dawn.
Farooq alleged that on the first day of the championship a national player had also abused him in front of many people.
Those involved should be reprimanded by the PBSA so that such incidents are not repeated again, he said.
The owner said he has provided all facilities free of cost to the PBSA in the interest of the game.
