LAHORE, March 28: An alleged smuggler was injured in an encounter with the Pakistan Rangers near Wagah border on Tuesday. A Rangers spokesman said three men were trying to smuggle liquor from India into Pakistan. He said the Rangers tried to stop them but they opened fire.

The fire was retaliated, which injured one of the smugglers, Naseer, while the other two managed their escape. The injured man was admitted to hospital. —Staff Reporter
