LAHORE, March 28: The cabinet committee constituted by the chief minister has directed the District Price Assessment Committee to submit proposal for fixing the price of 5,000 kanals of state land in Harbanspura under unauthorised possession within a week.

The cabinet committee issued the directions during its meeting held here with Law Minister Raja Basharat in the chair. The committee will take up the matter in its next meeting on April 4.

The committee also decided to invite a representative delegation of the affectees of Mailsi Canal during the next meeting for negotiations on compensation for the land.

Colonies Minister Mian Manazar Ali Ranjha stressed the need for fixing adequate prices of state land meant for disposal keeping in view the phenomenal increase in property prices.

The meeting was also attended by Revenue Minister Gul Hamid Khan Rokhari, district nazim Mian Amer Mahmood and member (colonies) Tariq Yousaf.
