KARACHI: Chowkundi tombs

KARACHI, March 28: Taking notice of the deteriorated condition of the Chowkundi graveyard, Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman directed the department concerned to take steps for its protection and preservation. This 16th century graveyard of the Mughal era is located near the National Highway.

The chief secretary also took note of the encroachments emerging on the land surrounding the historical cemetery. The meeting considered the report of the committee regarding cultural heritage buildings. —APP
