KARACHI: Possession of Hawkesbay plots from April

KARACHI, March 28: In the light of the directives issued by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal during their visits to Hawkesbay Scheme-42, the Lyari Development Authority (LDA) is starting handing over possession to all the allottes from the second week of April.

According to the LDA, a proposal will be sent to the provincial and city governments for handing over possessions to 13,000 allottees in the first phase.

The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the LDA held under the chairmanship of Project Director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha here on Tuesday.

The meeting was informed that the Hawkesbay scheme had 71 sectors, in which balloting of 42,608 plots in 26 sectors had been held. These included 33,000 low cost housing plots of 80 and 120 sq-yards.

In the meeting the ongoing development works in various sectors of the schemes were also reviewed.

The allottees of the Hawkesbay Scheme-42 have been asked to personally see the development works and provision of facilities in the scheme and pay their dues immediately to get possession of plots.

It was informed that work on construction of 8.5km long, double-track road from Grax Village to Beach Avenue was going on swiftly to provide better travelling facilities to people while one track of the road had been completed.

The meeting was told that construction of this road would not only benefit the people going to the beach for recreation but also allottees of the Hawkesbay resettlement project, Journalist Colony and City Government Officers Society as well as Hawkesbay Scheme-42.—APP
