Girl not yet recovered

SIALKOT, March 27: The Badiana police have failed to recover the daughter of a labourer who was kidnapped by three influential people of Mundeyki Beriyan village, Pasrur, even after two months of the incident.

Labourer Ghulam Husain told journalists on Monday that Khalid, Liaquat and Rafaqat had kidnapped his daughter ‘S’, a student of grade seven, when she was going to school. Badiana police had registered a case but failed to recover the girl and arrest the kidnappers.

Ghulam Husain said the accused were very influential and were roaming freely in the village. They were threatening his family with dire consequences for reporting the matter to the police.

He alleged that instead of arresting the accused, the police were harassing his family and forcing him for reconciliation. He urged the chief minister and Punjab IGP to help him get justice. — Correspondent
