Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, March 27: A record number of vessels sailed out from the port after unloading and loading cargoes on Monday, according to KPT sources. Never before in the KPT history about two dozen ships departed during the normal operations and could be considered an all-time record so far, shipping sources said, adding: “It also reflects the pace of operations carried out at the port.”
The ships departed are: Sinar Bontang, Kota Tabah, Conti-Harmony, Maersk Alabama, Mac Aandresew Swala, Trust Busan, Golen Jane, Airabab, BBC Greece, Orionis, Labbadi, Med Dignity, Let Arun, Victoria-1, Shintoku, Dareen, Shang Yuan Men, Med Carrara, Sanhope, Ocean Wave-1, CEC Calendonia and Bow Ceda.
The ships, which will sail out on Tuesday are: Al-Marwah, Kota Jasa, Tai He, Rosita and Corin Thaikos.
A total tonnage of 98,814 tons comprising 17,661 tons of export cargo, including 5,790 tons of rice and 81,153 tons of import tonnage, was handled.
The following ships are due on Tuesday: Swat, with crude oil, APL Pusan, with containers, An Yue Jiang, with general cargo, and Alitis, with 32,971 tons of DAP fertilizer.
