SSB’s call for elections unconstitutional: PHF

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, March 25: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has taken notice of Sindh Sports Board’s (SSB) directive of holding elections of Sindh Hockey Association on March 27.

A spokesman of the PHF stressed that constitution of the federation did not accept any interference from the provincial sports board and as being a national federation, the PHF was an autonomous body.

He added that any decision of any other body, regarding the holding of elections of KDHA or SHA without prior approval of PHF, was totally unconstitutional.

The spokesman said that a five-member committee headed by Akhtarul Islam was constituted after a meeting between PHF President Tariq Kirmani and Sindh Minister for sports Qamar Mansoor.
