Dacoit killed in shootout

GUJRANWALA, March 25: A dacoit was killed while his accomplice beat a retreat during an exchange of fire near the girls college in Satellite Town here on Saturday night. Currency exchange owner Jamshed Pal was going to his house along with his son Muazzam by his motorcycle. Near the college, two motorcyclists tried to snatch the cash from them. On resistance, outlaws opened fire on them, but luckily they escaped unhurt. Pal also returned the fire which resulted in the instant death of a bandit, who was later identified as Luqman of Lohianwala.

BOOKED: An ASI, two constables and three touts of Garjakh police were booked for trespassing here on Saturday.

ASI Saeed, constables Ashraf and Amir Haroon along with their touts intruded into the house of district bar clerks association president Sajjad Husain.
