Zaka hammers century

KARACHI, March 24: Opener Zaka Qureshi slammed an unbeaten century as Pakistan defeated India by ten wickets in the opening match of a five match One-day International Deaf Series at National Stadium on Friday.

Zaka, who was also leading the team, cracked 19 boundaries and a brace of sixes off 49 deliveries. Mohammad Kamran hit 13 boundaries and two sixes in his 55 ball knock of 84 not out.

Due to sparkling batting display by the two batsmen, Pakistan deaf team reached the target in just 17.1 overs without losing a wicket.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. They were bowled out for 204 in 48.3 overs.

Subhankar Mallick top scored with 73 off 101 deliveries. He hit seven fours and a six. Opener Vijay Kumar scored 25 with five boundaries.

Second match of the series will be played at Multan Stadium on Sunday.
