LAHORE, March 24: PML-N MNA Saad Rafiq has denied allegations that his party was involved in the Feb 14 violence in the city or that the exiled leaders had sent any “well done” message to anyone.

In a press statement on Friday, he said if the general had made the allegation for the character-assassination of the PML-N, it was a matter of great honour. But, he said, if he had done so on the information provided by some intelligence agency, it would be in his own interest to have the matter rechecked.

Saad said the general’s advisers had pitted him against tribal leaders as well as political parties. In the presence of such advisers, he said, the general did not need any enemy.

The PML-N leader, who is facing charges of involvement in what had taken place on Feb 14, said for his party leaders and workers causing damage to national property was a great “sin”.

He said a warning could not detract them from their course.
