Two railway policemen sacked

SAHIWAL, March 24: Two Railway Police constables were dismissed from service on Friday on the charge of theft. The Grain Market police on Dec 19 had impounded a truck loaded with parts of train, including brake panels, railway lines, etc., and arrested nine people identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Kaharia, Muhammad Amin, Imran, Imdad Ali, constables Sher Khan, Aminuddin, Arshad, Allah Ditta and Sahib Khan.

The Multan Railway Police SSP dismissed constables Allah Ditta and Sahib Khan.

The additional district and sessions judge has also rejected their bails.

TRADER ROBBED: A trader of Lahore was deprived of cash and car by three robbers.

Yousaf Jamil told police that he had gone to Chak 7/11-L to see his relatives by his car (LWB-7725). Three people, including an old man, requested for a lift when he was about to leave for Lahore.

He said they gave him some drugged food and he became unconscious. They took his car and Rs1,700 in cash from his pocket.

Chichawatni Saddar police have registered a case.

BAIL: Additional district and sessions judge on Friday granted pre-arrest bail to six leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami. They are; Dr Anwarul Haq Sheikh, Dr Abdul Qadeer Lashari, Maulana Munawar Ali Khan, Sajid Khan, Iqbal Ahmad Wajid, union council 2 nazim Tayyab and Muhammad Khan.

They were booked by the city police along with four MNAs and 48 others for holding public meetings on January 1 and May 12 last at Jogi Chowk.
