MUMBAI, March 22: England captain Andrew Flintoff will fly home early on Thursday to see his new-born son, a day after leading his injury-hit side to victory in the final Test. The all rounder will be back to lead the team in the seven-match one-day series starting in New Delhi on Tuesday, a team official said.
Flintoff’s wife Rachael gave birth to their second child, Corey, a fortnight ago. The couple also have an 18-month-old daughter.
He dropped plans to be with her for the birth after he was named captain due to the absence of skipper Michael Vaughan (injury) and his deputy Marcus Trescothick, who returned home for personal reasons.—Reuters
