Islamabad and Lahore in final


ISLAMABAD, March 22: Islamabad and Lahore convincingly won their semifinals at F-9 Park on Wednesday to march into the final of the national cricket tournament for the blind. In the first semifinal, Karachi reached 270 in 20 overs as Tahir topscored with 82. Islamabad achieved the target in 17 overs for the loss of four wickets, winning by six wickets.

Muzaffar Ali notched up a blistering 130 to pave the way for Islamabad’s victory over Karachi.

In the second semifinal, Lahore made light of Azad Kashmir by 148 runs.

Lahore piled up 340 in the stipulated 25 overs thanks chiefly to a whirlwind 114 by Fayyaz Ahmed.

Azad Kashmir folded up for 192 with Idrees getting the highest knock of 35 as Muhammad Shehbaz captured two wickets for Lahore.

The final between Islamabad and Lahore will be played on Thursday at F-9 Park.—APP
