KARACHI, March 22: Three ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday. Meanwhile, two more vessels also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, seeds, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 99,316 tons comprising 70,008 tons of import and 29,308 tons of export was handled.

Sailing was also active as Ocean Thi, Nedllyd Muscat, Austria and Stolt Tenacity left the port while Asian Trader and Yanaseni were expected to depart.

Five ships, Asian Trader, Thuringia Express, Indonesia Star, Global Trader and Diler-4, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
