KARACHI: Ulema council discussed

KARACHI, March 21: The formation of the Ulema Council in Sindh came under final consideration at a meeting held at Governor House here on Tuesday with Governor Ishratul Ibad in the chair. The governor directed the concerned authorities to complete all relevant work during the next 10 days.

In the meeting, the draft presented by State Minister Dr Aamer Liaquat for the establishment of council and to make it effectively functional, came under detailed consideration for harmonising it with legal requirements.

Advocate General Sindh Anwar Mansoor Khan briefed the meeting in this regard.

The participants described the formation of the council a historic decision.

The governor told the meeting that the Ulema Council would enjoy necessary powers and facilities, and it would play its role in resolving issues.—APP
