Exciting win for Sabir XI


KARACHI, March 18: Tapal CC (TCC) and Sabir XI recorded exciting victories over their opponents in the Inter-club cricket championship on Friday. TCC overpowered A.O.Colts CC (AOCCC) by 15 runs despite haul of six wickets by leg spinner Zafar Iqbal at Student Ground.

Ahmed Zeeshan Malik cracked 69 with six fours as TCC posted 202 for nine wickets in 40 overs. AOCCC in reply were restricted to 187 for seven wickets in 40 overs. Asim Baig hit eight boundaries in his 61.

At Landhi Friends Ground, Sabir XI notched-up an exciting five runs victory over Rising Star CC (RSCC). Sajid Ali hit 54 with five 4s for winners.

Saqib Badar smashed a fine 77 with seven fours but it failed to save his team from defeat.

Summarised scores:

TCC beat AOCCC by 15 runs.

TCC 202-9 in 40 overs (Ahmed Zeeshan Malik 69, Imran Omer 40; Zafar Iqbal 6-43, 6-43, Atif Chaudhry 2-37)

AOCCC 187-7 in 40 overs (Asim Baig 61; Abdullah Akhtar 2-36).

Sabir XI beat RSCC by five runs.

Sabir XI 230-8 in 40 overs (Sajid Ali 54, Saifullah 36, Dawood Khan 27, Mehboob Khan 26; Nawaid 3-40, Saqib Badarul Hasan 2-33)

RSCC 225-9 in 40 overs (Saqib Badarul Hasan 77, Afzal Ahmed 41, Nawaid Malik 31, Nawaid Zameer 25, Saifulah 3-20, Mehboob Khan 3-24, Wajid Ali 2-25).
