ISLAMABAD, March 18: All relevant departments in the NWFP have been asked to ensure efficient surveillance and monitoring so as to detect the outbreak of the H5N1 virus. Veterinary Institute Peshawar Director Dr Saadullah Jan stated this on Saturday while speaking to PTV.

He said that in the wake of mixed reports in connection with the virus in Afghanistan, various preventive measures had been proposed in areas on the Pak-Afghan border.—APP
