KARACHI: Refinement of children’s potentials stressed


KARACHI, March 17: The annual prize distribution function was held at Defence Authority Junior Model School in Seaview Township here on Friday. DHA Education Director Brig (Retd) Muzaffarul Hasan, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that education was the essence of life and that the biggest investment for the future was provision of quality education to the new generation.

He reiterated that the DHA had a network of educational institutions from pre-nursery to college level, which were providing quality and progressive education to the children of residents and the citizens of the metropolis.

Brig Muzaffar said that at the primary level foundation was laid for grooming and education of students. He emphasized that the foundation should be sound for making the building strong.

He asked teachers to undertake the scared task of teaching young children with utmost devotion and diligence and to refine the potentials of students to the optimum.

In her welcome address, School Principal Mrs Rukshana Jabeen highlighted the significance of primary education. She said that the impressions and perceptions of the younger age left indelible marks on the formative minds of students which were catalyst in their social, emotional and intellectual growth.

Mrs Rukhasana said that the thrust of education at her institution was on preparation of conscientious and responsible citizens of the future and to make them useful members of the society.

Later, the young students presented an entertaining talent programme which included beautiful rhymes presentations, fashion trends, tableau and performance on scenes from Merchant of Venice, Mirat-ul-Uroos and Sound of Music. The spirited and talented performance of students was greatly appreciated by the audience.

At the end, the chief guest distributed prizes and certificates amongst the students who excelled in various academics and co-curricular activities. He announced an award of Rs25,000 on behalf of DHA Administrator for the school. —APP
