Port Qasim

KARACHI, March 17: Berthing activity was slow as only one container ship was berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, two more container vessels were anchored at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as six ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, diesel oil, wheat and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 51,901 tons comprising 38,590 tons of import cargo and 13,311 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as Contship Indigo, London Senator, Keefan, Giovanni Dellia Gatta and Mighty Michales left the port. While four ships, Amasis, Brasilia, Fair Spirit and Ocean Thi, were due to take berths.

Two ships, Selin and Mariella, carrying containers and diesel oil were due to arrive at the port, while Merker Beach, Azov Wing and Warbah were expected to reach on Saturday.
