KARACHI: Sindh govt striving for autonomy: adviser
KARACHI, March 16: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Local Government Waseem Akhtar has said that the Sindh government is still struggling for provincial autonomy and a just NFC Award.
Addressing a seminar organized by the Consumers Association of Pakistan (CAP) at the Mohammad Ali Jinnah University here on Thursday to mark the International Consumer Rights Day, the adviser stressed that the major revenue generating province should be given it due rights in the NFC.
Mr Akhtar informed the participants that all hospitals in the province had been asked to admit the patients who appeared not able to pay the hospital’s fee in advance.
Referring to a recent case, he urged the Aga Khan Hospital’s doctor responsible for the botched operation to apologise to the aggrieved family and make compensation.
He observed that the law and order situation in the province at present was far better than what it had been in the past.
Chairman of the Research Institute of Islamic Bank and Finance Dr Shahid Hasan Siddiqui, Chairman of the CAP Kokab Iqbal, Vic-Chancellor of the Jinnah University Prof Abdul Wahab and others also spoke at the seminar.—PPI
