KARACHI: Protest against demolition

KARACHI, March 16: Hundreds of dislodged residents of Jumma Goth on Thursday staged a sit-in at a section of the Main University Road in protest against the demolition of their houses by the city government.

Due to the sit-in, traffic between NIPA Chowrangi and Safari Park remained suspended for more than two hours.

The protesters alleged that city government had demolished their houses without serving them a notice in advance.

They urged the Sindh government to do justice with them and grant them adequate compensation for their razed houses.

Later, police intervened to disperse the protesters and clear the road.—PPI
